Nike Sportswear April 2014 Preview

Nike Sportswear April 2014 Preview

Nike Sportswear’s crop of April 2014 releases is one split between nostalgia inducing retros and updated takes on those retro silhouettes. Then again that’s always sort of been NSW’s modus operandi – to remind customers of their undeniable heritage and bring them on board refreshed versions of those that spin new technology in. What exactly fills those respective roles this time around? Maintaining much of their original shape are pairs like the Nike Air Tech Challenge II, the Nike Air Trainer SC II, the Nike Air Tech Challenge Huarache, and the Nike Air Trainer Max ’94.

Super hype about these releases. Will you be getting anything from the sportswear collection? Leave your comments below.

Nike Air Force 1 AC

We’ve seen a lot of Nike Air Force 1s in the past couple of years that fiddle with the DNA of that classic hoops shoe, but this one might just be the furthest departure yet. The sneakers replace the typical chunky outsole from 1982 with a slimmer vulc treatment on the bottom. This slimming down theme is one that’s been common throughout the aforementioned transformations that the sneaker has been through over the past couple of years on releases like the Light, Hyperfuse, and Downtown.

New Music: UNICORN

ASAP Rocky has been teasing his instrumental album, LORD FLVCKO for a while now, but today we finally got a taste of what the album will sound like. Rocky unleashed an “art video” for a new track with Bauuer caller “Riot Rave”, as well this track called “Unicorn”.

ASAP initially drew attention to himself for pulling influence from Houston rap, though he was from HArlem, and his instrumental work also bears the mark of the city of the purple sprite.

Nike Air Maestro Flight 1

Nike Air Maestro Flight 1

Back in 1992 there was a key division amongst Nike Basketball’s on-court offerings. There was the “Force” line, designed for bulkier players, and there was the “Flight” line, intended for the athletes who attacked the hardwood with a faster style of play. Debuting that year and quickly becoming a hallmark of the line was the Nike Air Maestro Flight 1, a sneaker worn by luminaries like Scottie Pippen, Ron Harper and John Stockton during the 1992-93 season.
